One of the things that Kevin and Norm love most about having created the Blood of Kings Podcast, is the growth of the amazing HIGHLANDER Fan Community on Facebook and Social Media. Listener and fan interaction is incredibly important to promoting new discussions in all aspects of the Highlander universe. One BOK fan in particular, Jill Berticus, inspired Kevin and Norm to take a deeper look into one of Jill’s favorite episodes: Season 3’s SHADOWS.

After reviewing this episode, Kevin and Norm can easily see why Jill Berticus chose this as one of her favorites. This episode combines a great many aspects of what makes for a quality Highlander episode; especially the MORAL ambiguity haunting Duncan MacLeod and the guilt that John Garrick is able to tap into to drive Duncan towards the edge of his own sanity.

This episode also sheds a very pointed light on whether or not Immortals can indeed find happiness in a normal life whilst trying to survive within “The Game” as Duncan and Dr. Anne Lindsey’s blossoming relationship is put to the ultimate test: TRUST in each other.

I thought this was a really great cast, this one on Shadows. I check my itunes new podcast feed a couple of times a day, waiting for Part 2! I really want to hear your commentary!

Oh, so these guys have a new line. See it or Skip it! For me, the only problem with skipping pretty much anything in Season 1 is that Alexandra as Tessa is a wonderful person to watch. The most we get of her is Season 1, so it's sad to skip any episode there, even the really bad ones, because I don't want to miss her.

The rules of DESERT ISLAND CHALLENGE are really simple. The scenario is that you have packed up all of your worldly possessions and are sailing to a new land, similar to the Titanic, when disaster strikes and you only have ONE CHANCE to save only ONE CHOICE of...in this case All Things Highlander from sinking into the abyss. These choices will be the only choices you are allowed to toss into a lifeboat and live with for the rest of your life on a nearby Deserted Island. And yes...you will have a fully functioning entertainment there to enjoy your time alone LOL!

For this episode, we are going to start with the TELEVISION SERIES first because we feel that this is really much more difficult than the MOVIE SERIES because there are so many more options to choose from regarding just the television episodes. But fear not, in future DESERT ISLAND episodes, we will tackle all of the other areas of Highlander as well.
