Oh, God yes! I loved Endgame when it first came out but I recently rewatched it and boy does the script have problems. I'm not just referring to continuity with the previous films either. I can still see why I loved it as a teen but it doesn't hold up. Maybe with better direction the movie could've been saved. I don't know which was was, the script or the directing.
The script had good ideas but it was way too much stuff for a 88 to 100 minute film. I am also supportive of first time directors but I'm sorry to say Douglas A. displayed bland direction. I had always assumed it was really Davis & Panzer's film, they just needed a yes man to direct it. If I were to put myself in his shoes I imagine I'd have told DP there's no way to make a great film with the limitations I have (budget, running time).
